Tuning A Samsung TV

How to Tune a Samsung TV. 


Connect Antenna

Ensure the TV antenna is properly connected to your Samsung TV. 


Turn On TV

Use the remote or power button to turn on the TV. 


Access Menu

Press the “Home” or “Menu” button on your remote. 


Go to Broadcasting Menu

Navigate to “Settings” > “Broadcasting”.


Start Auto Tuning

Select “Auto Tuning” or “Auto Program” then hit “Start”. 


Select Channel Type

Choose “Digital” and, if prompted, select “Antenna” source. 


Channel Scanning

Wait for the scan to complete without turning off the TV or pressing buttons. 


Save Channels

Once the scan is done and channels are found, select “OK” or “Finish”. 


Watch TV

Use your remote to browse through the newly scanned channels. 


Additional Quick Tips 


Retune as needed to catch new or changed channel frequencies.

Use a quality antenna, properly positioned for optimal reception. 


Manual Tuning

Use if you need to add channels not found during the scan.

Ensure Internet Connection

Your TV must be connected to the internet. Check this in the Settings menu under “Network.” 


Go to Smart Hub

Press the “Home” button on your Samsung remote to access the home screen. 


Navigate to Apps

On the home screen, find and select the “Apps” icon.


Search for the App

Use the search feature (magnifying glass icon) at the top of the screen to type in the name of the streaming service you’re looking for. 


Install the App

Select the desired app from the search results, then click “Install.” 


Open the App

After installation, the app will be available in your “Apps” section. Open it to proceed. 


Log In or Register

Log into your existing account with the streaming service or sign up for a new account, following the app’s instructions.

Make sure your Samsung TV’s firmware is up to date for the best performance and compatibility with the latest apps. 


Some apps may offer a code to facilitate registration or login via a mobile device or computer for convenience.

Connecting a Samsung TV To The Internet

To connect your Samsung TV to the internet, follow these steps


Wireless Connection

Press the Menu button on your remote. 

Navigate to Network or Settings. 

Select Network Settings or Network Connection. 

Choose Wireless and select your Wi-Fi network. 

Enter your Wi-Fi password and follow the prompts to connect. 


Wired Connection (Ethernet)

Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to your TV and the other end to your router. 

Press the Menu button on your remote. 

Navigate to Network or Settings. 

Select Network Settings or Network Connection. 

Choose Wired or Ethernet connection to establish the connection. 


Auto-Setup (for newer models)

Press the Home button on your remote. 

Go to Settings > General > Network > Open Network Settings. 

Select Wireless or Wired, and follow the on-screen instructions. 


Upon successful connection, your Samsung TV should be ready to access the internet for streaming, browsing, and more. 

Factory Reset a Samsung TV


Using the TV Menu (for older TVs)

Press the Menu button on your remote. 

Navigate to Support or Setup. 

Select Self Diagnosis followed by Reset. 

Enter your PIN if prompted. The default PIN is often 0000. 

Confirm the reset when prompted. 


Using Smart Hub (for Smart TVs)

Press the Home button on your remote to open Smart Hub. 

Navigate to Settings > Support. 

Select Self Diagnosis > Reset. 

Enter your PIN if prompted and confirm the reset.


Using a Specific Remote Key (for some models)

With the TV turned off, press the following keys on the remote in succession: Mute > 1 > 8 > 2 > Power. 

This key combination initiates the factory reset process. 


Hard Reset (for TV that won’t turn on)

Unplug the TV from the power outlet. 

Press and hold the Power button on the TV for 30 seconds. 

Plug the TV back in and turn it on. This process can reset some settings. 


After the factory reset, your Samsung TV will revert to its original state, and you will need to set it up as if it were new. Make sure to reconfigure your preferences and reconnect to your network.
